Continuing in the category of Neat Things Made by Uber-Crafters Using My Fabric, check out this awesome pillow made by Megan of Minneapolis, using the 2012 Tea Towel Calendar! The design looks like it was meant to be made into a pillow! I love it, Megan!
Check out Megan's blog, iki knits, and her Etsy shop, WhiskerKnits, for some knitting and sewing love. She makes fun knit cuffs (which I could probably use year-round in this crazy Seattle weather!), and some really cool neckties!

A Mixed Bag!
Most of you know I have never posted on the weekend, but this has been such an amazing week, I had to blog once more! Over the last five days I have been greeted daily with messages and photos from Crafters who have made fantastic things using my fabric! (Yes, that's Crafters with a capital 'C', for emphasis!) You saw the fab Kindle cover made by Cherie using the Mix Tapes fabric. Now check out this rockin' clutch made by Jennifer Ladd of Milwaukee!
Available in her Etsy shop, the padded clutch is the perfect size for carrying essentials, and features a silver metal frame with kiss clasp and a bright pink and white polka dot coordinating fabric on the inside.
Jennifer does incredible work! She has an eye for choosing colors and mixing fabrics! You can see a whole bunch of her colorful purses, wallets, and even adorable, modern baby items, on her Flickr page as well.
I am so flattered when people choose fabric I've designed to make something so special...I get goosebumps!

A New Look!
Over the past few weeks I've had to store a whole bunch of project ideas in my head, and in my sketchbook as a backup, so I could take some time to revamp the Gallery section of my website. I wanted to do a better job at featuring my pattern collections and focusing solely on my work as it relates to surface pattern design in general, and to projects that will ultimately end up, or influence other items, in my Etsy shop. I'm calling this Gallery redesign 'Phase One', as I would eventually like to do a home page as Phase Two, a place to go to see an overview of Penny Candy Handmade before jumping right into the blog. Anyhoo...
If you click on the collection images, a new window will appear showing swatches of fabric available in that collection. When you click on single designs, or any of the designs from the Stitch, Print, or Craft sections, a window will appear showing a full view or close-up of that design. I will update the Gallery regularly, as new designs and collections come available. In the meantime, thanks for checking it out--I hope you like it!

Swatch Watch
Last week I received a whole bunch of samples of some of my latest fabric designs and just got around to taking some pictures yesterday since we had about an hour of sunshine--just enough time to press and photograph them before the rain started again. I believe that I have finally completed the At the Circus!, Footnote Flower, Japanese Washi Tape and Woodtype Alphabet (all three colorways) collections so that I can start moving on to other ideas (phew!). I love the way the swatches look on the uncut fabric, almost like an instant quilt!

Kindle-d Spirit
I just love to see projects people complete using fabric I have designed! Everyone has such great ideas! Check out this awesome Kindle Fire cover made by Cherie of Spokane, Washington, using the Mix Tapes fabric. The cover is available in her Etsy shop, StudioCherie, now!
The cozy cover features an opening in the bottom for plugging in a charger and headphones and an opening in the top for speakers. Soft, but sturdy enough to convert into a stand! Plus, you can customize the mix tapes with a fabric marker!
