Sweet Swedish Sippers

You might recall I did a Friday Finds post a few weeks ago that featured some really cool mugs. Well, at the time I hadn't yet seen these. What little beauties they are! Littlephant bone china mugs are designed in all their '50s splendor by Swedish illustrator Camilla Lundsten. You can find them here.

Geekly Chic Records & Tapes Coming to a Store Near You!

I am so excited to announce that my Mix Tapes and Stars on 45 designs have been picked up by Riley Blake Designs and will be available (on bolts!) in stores and online in March 2013! Both are part of their new "Geekly Chic" line, featuring work by myself and two other designers. And each design comes in three different colorways! There's just a tiny bit of bad news: now that the designs will become available on 100% cotton from Riley Blake, they will no longer be for sale on Spoonflower starting in March. So if you want Mix Tapes or Stars on 45 printed on any other fabric besides cotton, you have a few months left to order.

Advance samples of the fabric have already been circulating around recent quilt shows, and people are making some fun stuff! A couple of photos I've found are shown below.

Cut-and-Sew Pattern: Holiday Cocktail Napkins

This week's Spoonflower contest features a cut-and-sew pattern for making holiday cocktail napkins. Here is my entry, along with some closeups of each napkin. Wrap It Up, I'll Take It!

Last night I discovered, by accident, and I think before it has officially been announced: Just in time for the holidays, you can now order any Spoonflower fabric design printed on...drum roll please...gift wrap! Each roll is 36" x 72" and costs $15. I have been waiting for this for a long time, hoping it would happen someday, and that day has come! I have already ordered four different rolls! Will be sure to show them to you when they arrive.

Timeless, Classic, and Colorful: J.Crew Color Palette

Since the early '80s I have loved flipping through the J.Crew catalog, with all the piles of perfectly folded preppy sweaters in every color of the rainbow. The design of the catalog certainly hasn't changed much throughout the years...totally classic! Here's a page from the November catalog that caught my eye. A bright, cheery color palette for those drab winter days!

Sweet Spots: Vintage Life Savers Ads

I love vintage advertising, especially print ads for food products. Vintage candy ads are especially fun, and I often find myself particularly drawn to those for Life Savers. They are colorful, bright, and bold...just like the sweet, tangy candy rings themselves!
